Call for Position for a full-time tenure-track position (open rank) in the Department of Music Theory, Composition & Conducting

The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position (open rank) in the Department of Music Theory, Composition & Conducting. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in electronic music.
The position is open to candidates with a doctoral degree and proven artistic and academic potential.

The 2021 - 2022 Dr. Tzipora Jochsberger Z"L Prize for the Creation of Jewish Art Music

 

According to the bequest of Dr. Tzipora Jochsberger Z"L, the prize will be awarded to encourage creativity in Jewish Artistic Music.

The prize will be granted for a musical composition based on Hebrew or other Jewish language texts (such as Yiddish or Ladino) and/or materials connected to Jewish tradition: cantillation tropes, prayer modes, melodies from different Jewish traditions and/or tales/narratives/concepts of Jewish philosophy or other traditional subjects concerning the Jewish people.

M.Dance Degree Curriculum

The program requires 4 semesters totaling 46 credits:

Specialization in choreography/composition: 23 weekly hours plus 1 weekly unaccredited hour

Specialization in performance: 23 weekly hours plus 23 weekly hours plus 1 weekly unaccredited hour + 8 weekly hours of technique (unaccredited)
