Composition for the Media Specialization Track

Head of the Track – Elad Adar

The Composition for Media specialization track is intended for students pursuing a master’s degree in composition seeking to specialize in composing music for cinema, television and the visual media. Over four semesters students will gain experience in composition for a picture, orchestration, use of currently leading DAW software (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, Ableton Live), recording and mix.

The program will familiarize students with the world of television and cinema, including all its components, characteristics and relevant personnel interfacing with the composer’s work (director, producer, editor, post-production, etc.). Students will also study the history of music for picture and the characteristics of the various genres. The main component of this track will include implementation of composition and artistic aspects, alongside the technical and practical aspects of composing music for picture.

Through the various courses, students who choose this track will gain experience composing music for picture, accompanied by personal guidance which will enable each and every student to find and express their personal artistic voice.

Track graduates find their place as composers for media in Israel and abroad and are award winners at international film festivals.
