Classical Performance

Master's Degree Program (M.Mus) specializing and focusing on the main subject (instrument).

Along with the formulation of the personal artistic statement (as a direct continuation of undergraduate studies at the academy), this master's track is also designed to develop artistic initiative, with the aim of influencing the formation of cultural-educational-artistic leadership. This track can also be used as a step towards doctoral studies.

Composition for the Media Specialization Track

The Composition for Media specialization track is intended for students pursuing a master’s degree in composition seeking to specialize in composing music for cinema, television and the visual media. Over four semesters students will gain experience in composition for a picture, orchestration, use of currently leading DAW software (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, Ableton Live), recording and mix.

Student Choir

The Student Choir, under the musical direction and conducting of Mr. Stanley Sperber, is one of the Academy’s performing entities. Choir members are students who are not members of another JAMD representative performing entity (the Chamber Orchestra or the Chamber Choir). The choir’s repertoire combines a cappella works, works accompanied by piano and works for choir and orchestra. Works performed by the choir in past years included Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, Schumann's Requiem and a Schubert Mass.

Call for Position for a a non-tenure position of a lecturer (half-time) at the Music Education Department – Eastern/Oriental Music (beginning Fall 2022-2023).

The Position Includes:

  1. Supervising students in their practice teaching in Elementary Schools in East Jerusalem Arab Schools both general music lesson and group instrumental instruction.
  2. Teaching the course "Intercultural Musical Dialogues", development and management of the program in other areas of the country.

The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance invites applications for a non-tenure-track position of a lecturer at the Faculty of Cross-Disciplinary Music. The position is for one year, with an option for renewal; most of the teaching loads are at the Creativity Division, to be complemented with teaching at additional Faculty divisions.
