The Academy’s 16^th concert series will focus on Vienna, a city that has been among the main centers of cultural creativity and music for more than 200 years. Composers such as Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Schönberg, Webern and Berg were active there. We will hear works of theirs and will learn about the different musical styles that developed in that town. As always, the series’ participants and lecturers will be leading artists from Israel and overseas.
 

Thirty five students from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance's (JAMD) Community & Youth Project played a flowing series of events in the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Starting with a concert in the hospital lobby, and taking a classical approach to the Beatles evergreen hit song "Here Comes the Sun" , the students continued and played in various locations throughout the Medical Center as doctors, patients and passers-by joined in the fun.

Last year a new technological center was opened at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. It was established with the assistance of the Ted Arison Family Foundation, Wolf and Ruth Lesser, the Bracha Foundation and the Planning and Budgeting Committee.  The center, located in the the New Wing, is headed by Prof. Amnon Wolman.  It includes a sophisticated recording studio, a general computer laboratory, a computer and multimedia laboratory, as well as rooms for private work.
