The Dance Ensemble Each year a small number of the Academy's dance students are chosen to audition for the Ensemble. Opera Workshop The main participants in the Opera Workshop are students of the Vocal Department. The workshop stages at least one complete opera each year in cooperation with the Academy Orchestra. Singers of the workshop have participated in various operas, such as The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro, The Impresario, Dido and Aeneas, and La Boheme. Folk Music Ensemble About the Ensemble Emil Eibinder founded the Folk Music Ensemble in 2001 adding another top-quality performing group to the Faculty of Performing Arts. The Ensemble is made up of 12 Arab and Jewish students who study in the String Department, the Wind Department, the Jazz Department and the Oriental Music Department. The Ensemble specializes in Balkan music from Romania, Hungary, Turkey, Moldova, and Yugoslavia, as well as Israeli folk music. Vocal Department The Vocal Department trains singers in the various areas of vocal music (opera, lieder, and oratorio) in a number of languages and styles. Each student also receives lessons in voice development as well as training in accompaniment. Each year the Opera Workshop presents a number of stage productions together with the chamber ensemble or orchestra, and the students receive acting lessons.
