Director - Prof. Michael Meltzer

About the ensemble

The Academy’s recorder ensemble consists of students from the Academy’s recorder class.  The ensemble works under the direction of Prof. Michael Meltzer throughout the year, and is occasionally at the core of special projects.

The recorder ensemble has appeared at the Israel Festival (with Shlomo Gronich, among others), the Acco Festival, the Abu-Ghosh Festival, the “Days of Music and Nature Festival” in the Galilee, the “Sound of Music in the Upper Galilee” at Kfar Blum, and at special events held by the Knesset and at the Supreme Court.  It has participated in recordings and live broadcasts on the Voice of Music radio, both at the Targ Music Center in Ein Kerem and the Mishkenot Sha’ananim music center.

The ensemble's repertoire includes mainly music from the Renaissance period, as well as contemporary music written originally for four or more recorders.
