Position in the Academy: 
Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts

Born in Israel, holds an Artist degree (with distinction) from the Jerusalem Academy for Music & Dance in where he studied under the supervision of Professor Alexander Tamir and later With Ms. Dina Turgeman.
 
Zvi Zemel holds a Masters degree from the  Departments of Musicology and Cultural Studies at the Hebrew University, and these days is working on his PhD thesis at the Musicology Department
 
Zvi Zemel is a member of the teachers staff of the Music & Dance Academy in Jeruslaem since 1989, where he serves as a vocal coach in the vocal department. In addition, he serves as a vocal coach in the youth choir Ankor.  He worked with the New  Israeli Opera and in the summer courses of the International Vocal Arts Institute.
 
Since 2009 he serves as the head of the vocal department in the Academy.
 
Zvi serves also as director and teacher at the Music Department of the Academy's summer course entitled "Sounds in the Valley" in Kfar Bloom and has been an invited to teach at the Summer Academy for Music "Palazzo Ticci" in Montepulciano, Italy, working alongside with professor Jeanette Favarro Reuter
 
In 2001, he initiated together with Dr Gila Flam a concert series of Israeli Music in cooperation with the Jerusalem Academy for Music & Dance  and the department of music in the National Library at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Since then, he serves as the musical director of these concerts that concentrate on vocal Israeli music.

Zvi has been accompanying leading Israeli singers, such as, Cilla Grossmeyer, Gila Yaron, and Yaniv De'or in concerts held in Israel and abroad. He recorded for radio and television, some of his recordings with Grossmeyer have been made publicly available.
