The term "guitar ensemble" sounds suspicious. This ensemble is like a Big Band. Each guitar has its own role, to read from the page and play in concert, something usually done with wind instruments. It's a challenge for guitarists.

This ensemble started as four independent guitarists – joined by the bass and drums, they produce a unified and coordinated sound.

During the semester, students played, improvised, learned and analyzed pieces by great jazz composers from all periods.

Students are required to compose their own original pieces, inspired by various composers, and to submit them every week. They expand their knowledge of harmony, polyrhythm, modulation and more.

At the end of every semester, each student submits an original composition, emphasizing authenticity and use of compositional material studied.
